Boys' State '08
  Congratulations to Angus Saunders and Richard Myott of Argyle High School for their selection to attend New York Boys' State '08! 


 

 American Legion Boys' State is a unique summertime educational program for high school juniors that focuses on participation and personal experience in a model state, complete with governmental bodies and elected public officials. It is designed to mirror the structure and operation of its respective state government, providing training in practical citizenship, leadership and character development.   


Criteria for elegiblity: 


High School junior boy in the top half of his class


Physically fit


Patriotic


  This year, Boys' State will be held in June, 2008 at SUNY, Morrisville, NY.  The Argyle American Legion interviews nominated candidates and will cover all expenses and transportation.  For more information:  http://www.nyamericanlegionboysstate.com/

Girls State
  Opportunities for NY Girls' State are extremely limited.  Washington County has only four openings for Girls' State.  You may contact the Post Commander, Gary Gilchrist at 638-8603 if you are interested in attending to see if a slot can be obtained.
